'soap-boxing': today at snack Azrael started this thing where the person talking (they were having a very interesting conversation about nursing, and having babies and vaginas and umbilical cords and everyone wanted to talk at once) would stand up to say their bit. My initial thought was to ask them to sit down while we are having a civilized snack, however, it worked very well and seemed to really help them take turns and not all talk at once. Interested to see what happens next...

On our way to La Tourette, we saw interesting things happening in the parking lot of the high school. We learned from Kind Friendly Levi all about a machine called a 'putzmeister' from Germany (there is a lesser American model) which blows cement in particular places, used for refinishing swimming pools. It weighs 8000 pounds (about 200 Opal's!), and the crew travels all around the country (and even beyond to places like Guam) fixing pools. We saw a 'wrecker' load it onto a flatbed, and then we went to LaTourette (Azrael would have stayed and watched more....but after 20 minutes the rest of us were ready to move on), and on our way back we got to watch them load a storage container behind the putzmeister. Probably filled with pool tools. Or dead bodies. Very cool....
